These studs are for when you need to attach canvas to you boat and another piece of canvas on top (So two pieces on canvas to the same stud)
So you would have a stud on your deck, a socket and gyspy stud on the middle canvas and then a socket and cap on the outside canvas
The gyspy stud is designed so that you can attach more than one piece of canvas in the same spot
